Education for Sustainability, Sustainable Education

Education for Sustainability, Sustainable Education

03.Sep - 03. Sep, 2020 Cod. W01-20

Description

Without an education that contemplates cross-cutting respect and love for the planet; without an education that respects everyone's human and environmental rights, sustainability will not be possible.

Ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all is the fourth of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aprroved by the United Nations. Salman Khan, winner of the Princess of Asturias International Cooperation Award in 2019, is to tell us about his commitment to personalised learning, human interaction and alternative thinking. Salman Khan will talk about how to connect with students in the digital age, how to deliver education as a foundation for a more sustainable society, the changes education can promote to encourage more sustainable behaviour and how technology can help in this mission, about young people as an essential part of sustainable development and the importance of cooperation in progress towards sustainability. In short, Salman Khan will give us his vision on how to integrate sustainability into education and how technology can and must play a fundamental role in education throughout the world.

The institutional presentation by the authorities will be in Basque and Spanish with simultaneous translation into Basque, Spanish and English.

The conversation between Salman Khan and Javier Aizpurua will be in English with simultaneous translation into Basque and Spanish.

The conference will be held live online. If you want to participate and access the simultaneous translation, please sign up to access via ZOOM. If you want to attend by streaming (without participation and translation), access the website www.donostiasustainabilityforum.eus (access will be published the same day).
